GPS issue in iPhone 2G

I have iPhone 2G when i am going from one place to other place like hill place then then my iPhone is not display the global position of the that place, i want to know what is the reason behind this and what will be the solution of this issue. The reason why its not giving you exact precision coordinates is it uses cell tower triangulation to get close. But the original 2G iPhone never had a GPS chipset in it only the 3G iPhone and later reiterations had that as standard.
