Details about iPhone pictures...

Where are the pictures saved after an sync? Can I access them directly to compile them with the rest of my image catalog? What file format are they saved in?

Your pictures taken with the iPhone don't sync. If you want the photos off your iPhone and onto your computer you have to either email them to yourself, or when you connect with usb, just drag/drop them from the iPhone to your computer.

Pretty stupid that they don't sync, eh?

However, if you select folders to sync from your PC/MAC, iTunes will maintain those photos... just not the camera roll :-/

They sync very well on a mac.

And while they don't sync, they are contained in the backup, so if you restore from a backup, they will be back there.
