Battery Health?

iPhone 12 mini is a dog when it comes to battery health over 12 months. Shame because it’s such a great size. Hopefully the 13 mini battery health is more robust.

My launch day 12 Pro Max is at 85%. I can see it hitting 80% before September. I’m upgrading to the 14 Pro Max and will have the battery in my 12 Pro Max replaced once it hit 80% and I’ll use it as a backup phone.

I’ve had my 12 Pro since March 2021 and my battery is down to 94% max capacity. I’m not a power user & I use optimized charging.

My wife got her 12 pro max on launch day in November 2020 and it’s at 86% after just 15 or 16 months. Optimized charging is on. Never seen a iPhone batter degrade this fast. Once it hits under 80%, apple will swap out the battery at no charge since it has apple care+. Just crazy how fast this battery degraded.

Maybe I’m using it more now since I retired, but I still don’t think I’m a power user. Once the battery hits 80% I’ll replace it with AppleCare.

I agree…it’s crazy how fast the battery has degraded on the 12 series phones. As I type this just from the last time I replied in this thread (approx 2wks ago..?) my battery health is now at 92%.

I’m with you. It seems like every 2-3 weeks my battery health is degrading. I’ve never seen anything like it.

My wife’s iPhone 11 was a 97% after 14 months when she got her 12 max. Now this 12 max is at 86% after 15-16 months. Her usage of the phone is no different now then it was then. Just crazy how bad the batteries aged in 12 series of phones.

I have a 12 Pro Max since July 2021, I do not consider myself to be a heavy phone user, was at 100% battery until ios 15 dropped, now it goes down a couple percent pretty much every week, I am currently at 89% after only 7 months! Not super happy with the battery, but Applecare + says it is not a problem until it reaches 80, so I have made a game of killing off the battery at this point. Very Sad

That’s bad. At least you can get the battery replaced using AppleCare+. I’ll be doing the same thing.

I’m now trying to run my battery down to under 80%. I’m still at 85% at 15 months in.

Got my 12 Pro Max 15 months ago on release day. It's at 93% battery health. I can live with that.

My 12 Pro Max is been on since release date.. I just went to 98% month ago. And I charged mine every day.

Did you purchase it close to release date? If so, 89% isn't too bad. You should make it another year.

I would give the battery another year or 18 months.
