Anyone know what Wi-Fi Networking under Location Services Is Used For?

While going through the new settings in iOS7, I came across this one and I wasn't sure what exactly it is used for. Any ideas?

While I can't say for certain in iOS7 - I do know that in general Location Services can use WiFi to determine your location based on geographic coordinates of the IP address of the wifi node, if known. This setting may be just giving users the ability to turn that on or off...

That's a possibility, I'm not sure. I knew the Location Services could use WiFi, and I've seen the popup when accessing maps and WiFi is off, it suggests that I turn it on.

I've noticed with iOS7 that my location services seem to be used more and that setting also had a purple triangle.
