Hey,
my mac stopped working for no reason yesterday as I was browsing the web. When I tried to restart it it just shows a folder with a question mark icon and won't properly start. I tried cmd+r as AppleSupport suggest but there was no reaction to that command. I heard it could be a hard drive or potentially graphic's card chip due to overheating.
What do you suggest? there aren't any mac services in my hometown, I'm kinda stuck. do you think I could figure it out on my own?
I gave him a night hoping maybe it's going to somehow fix itself but nope, no go.

That folder with the question mark icon means that the MacBook can't find the boot directory. That can either mean it can't find the hard drive or the Operating System data on the hard drive is somehow corrupted.

If you can't do cmd + R, I'm thinking something is up with the SSD.

You can determine if there is a hardware issue by powering the computer off, power it on again and then hold the "D" key until you see a prompt to select a language. See this article: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202731

If the computer is okay hardware wise, you can attempt to recover your files using Target Disk Mode and another Mac. See this article: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201462. You may or may not be able to recover your files depending on the state of the SSD and file system.

If the hardware test passes and you have backed up your data - or if you don't care about the files on your Mac - connect the computer to the internet with an Ethernet cable and you can use Internet Recovery to reinstall the OS. See: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201314

if I push D nothing happens... it's mbp from 2009, could that be the reason?

now the "? folder" doesn't even show up, just plain white screen
