Activate new iPhone before creating "sync" in iTunes or "sync" first??

When we get our new ViP4 in a few weeks, shoud the iPhone be activated thru Verizon before plugging it into iTunes for "sync" and app downloads? Or can Verizon activation be done afterwards???

Sounds like one of those "wait and see what the instructions are" kind of things. Verizon's "getting ready" support info doesn't go that far into the process - yet

Or Xanax. I can't say too much though, I worry a lot about little things like that too, but I don't lose sleep over the activation process.
