Ok, as anyone else noticed this and if so...is there a setting to turn this off??

If I have a notification, for example Gmail or iMessage, when I unlock my phone it dings again and gives me a banner. It's totally annoying.

Reboot your device and then go to Settings>Notifications Center and go through your list and make sure that "Repeat Alerts" are set to "Never".
