"Other" Data?

Hey everyone,

I was syncing my iPhone 5 to iTunes not too long ago, and I noticed that there was a section of the Capacity bar that said "Other" and it was taking up about 2GB. I went for the 16GB model so 2GB is a chunk out of it, for sure.

Anyone know what is taking up this space and/or how to get rid of it?

It can be one of two things. One is data from apps. If you have an app that creates of stores a lot of data this could be it. The second is a screwed up sync. When this happens the only way I have found to fix it is through a reset.

Re: "Other" Data?

What is the iPhone ?Other? capacity seen in iTunes?

2GB is a lot, unless you're carrying many text messages and contacts and apps... and I mean, A LOT!

Or perhaps not that much... I just went and checked that, and it seems I'm already at 1GB. I do not have that much apps or contacts, so that space would be pretty much eaten up by SMS... Possible though, I do have a lot of them both in Messages and in Voxer, with pictures and all...
