Changed the docking socket now it will not charge iPhone4s

I "followed" the instructions in iMore to change the docking socket because the microphone was not working. Now the microphone is working (happy days) but it will not charge. I'm just about to pull it apart to check all the connections. Any other ideas?

Retrace your steps to make sure you did everything correctly. Alternatively, you can make a Genius Bar appointment with the nearest Apple Store and have them fix it for you.
