Setting Wallpaper from iMessage

Hi Folks;

I'm new to iOS so please be gentle.

So my wife texts me a lot of pictures of our kids and I like to set them as my wallpaper or lock screen picture. My question is, is there a simple way to do that? Currently, I tap on the photo, tap save to phone then go to photos, tap on the photo and tap set as wallpaper.

It wouldn't be too much of a hassle except we both share the same Onedrive and Google Photos account for cloud back up and I wind up getting duplicates because her iPhone uploads the picture and then when I save the picture to my phone so I can set it as a wallpaper it gets uploaded again.

Is there a way just to open the pic from iMessage and set the picture as a wallpaper from iMessage without the extra steps?

Re: Setting Wallpaper from iMessage

You can go to Settings > wallpaper > set a wallpaper.
You wouldn't have to save to camera roll twice.
Or, if it gets saved to your photos anyway, just don't save it from iMessage. Just go straight to photos and set as wallpaper.
