What Data Settings do I need to receive SMS on a new carrier?

I just received a iphone from my daughter, I have switched carrier to RedPocket and I am not receiving the SMS information to download the app to connect the phone,
I have the settings but do not know what setting to open to add the new information.

What app are you trying to download? Your carrier should only need a SIM card to connect and not an app. Have you ensured you have a good / active SIM in the phone with your APN settings set?
