Why isn't the touchpad working?

I bought the phone just over a year ago in Italy. My modem was changed yesterday and when I entered the new WiFi password something must have changed. Since then I haven't been able to unlock the phone and I get a voice message in Italian that I don't understand.

I'm lost. What does entering a new Wi-Fi passcode have to do with you being unable to unlock your phone? By the way, what make and model "phone" do you have? What modem was changed?
