How do I remove the SIM card from my iPhone 5?

I would imagine that it is possible (and perhaps likely) that many people purchased their phone with the SIM card already in it. And they likely (often) have no idea where the SIM card even is on the iPhone.

Good point. I haven't removed a SIM from an iPhone since . . . yeah, my 3GS.

I just did this with my Wife's 5c. It's a little door on the side. Use a paper clip to get it out. All my phones have come with the SIM already installed.

On the right side of the phone is the sim card tray. You can open using a paperclip. Insert the paper clip in the little hole in the tray and push it in. The tray will pop out and you can remove the card.

Please follow the steps to remone the SIM card:

Ensure that the device is powered off.
From the right edge of the device, remove the SIM card tray.
Note Utilize the SIM eject tool (or paperclip) to unlock the tray by inserting it into the provided slot.
Remove SIM card tray
Remove the SIM card from the SIM card tray.
Remove SIM card
