My Apple iPad 4 volume control is mute

My iPad 4 volume has stopped working, can any one tell me what the problem is, it was working fine for the 10 months I have had it,

If you've checked the mute switch, volume keys and sound settings then make a Genius Bar appointment with the nearest Apple Store.
