Why am I unable to update apps on my iPad 4?

I use IPAD 4. Each time I attempt to update app(s) with notification of new updates, it only opens the app(s) in existence but without updating. Pls, guide.

Try updating via iTunes on computer and sync to the iPad.

We're the apps that have available update installed using a different Apple ID? If so, login to the App Store (on the device) with that particular Apple ID to update them.
