Why am I unable to get iMessage replies on my iPhone, but can get them on my iPad?

some contacts are receiving my message but I don't get there reply on my iphone 6 but get it on my ipad

Settings>> Messages>> Send & Receive... check what your iPhone is using for the "Start new messages from"... Is it set to your phone number or email address?
