I don't want my phone to ring on my apple watch but I do want to receive other notifications

I went into the app on my phone and turned off the sound for the phone but it is still ringing

Go in to the Watch app on your phone, scroll down and tap on Phone. You want to tap Custom and then the bottom two options are what you're after. My watch does not make any sound when a call comes in, but it does vibrate (which can also be disabled). Other notifications will still come in.
