Sometimes I sit and keep my screen on for hours watching streaming videos but mostly posting on forums and Twitter. I have no other social apps. I push 4 email addresses.

About how many straight hours can I get at 2/3 to 3/4 brightness?

It’s hard to say what battery life will be, there Can be a lot in that situation going against the battery in your situation. Streaming videos can soak up battery life in general and depending on you signal and video quality can also reduce the life.
What I can tell you is, in your situation the Max would do better than the Xs on battery life.

Why don’t you plug it in to a charger if you’re sitting around doing those things?

I'm doing them in a casino or a park. If I were at home I'd watch tv

Why not just answer the question rather than scolding the op?

I wasn’t scolding the OP just making a suggestion based on what was obviously inadequate information.

Wasn't my question legitimate? Nobody has answered it yet? Asking why I don't just charge my device when I am curious about battery life isn't answering the question. It is mocking the question.

I tried watching a movie on my iPhone once. It’s a 7Plus. The movie was 90 minutes and I had barely 20% charge left when the movie was done.

So now asking a question is scolding and mocking?? Let me guess, you’re a millennial.

LOL. This question reminds me of those mathematical word problems my ugly 4th grade math teacher use to ask me. I really wouldn't be able to answer this question from experience, because I would plug in if I was going to watch programs on my Xs Max for hours at a time.
I suppose the time would vary considering how well of a connection you have on wifi or LTE. I really don't know how long, but I would probably use my iPad for a better viewing experience for that length of time.
Could you possibly come back to this thread and let us know how long your Maxx lasted?

Try on a day you are at home. Then you know for sure how long the battery will last and you won’t find your phone dead when you are out and about and need it.

I find the battery life to be about on par with my iPhone X. I keep my brightness at about 75% most of the time. Total battery life is hard for me to estimate because I charge my phone on and off throughout the day. I have a wireless charger at my desk and that’s where my phone sits when I’m there and not using it.

I am accustomed to about 5 hours of screen on time in Android phones. If iPhones are less it is part of my decision whether to buy a xs max

Although this is all relative I’m at 46% battery with 3h 10m of screen on time since my last charge. Battery was at 100% when I disconnected from the charger this morning.
