Will Imessage sender to non imessage iphone be able to see texts on ipad?

1 uses imessage/ 1 does not

will the imessage user be sending an imessage or an sms?

Id like to be able to see my messages on my ipad too but that is only imessage -will i be able to see them if I'm testing someone that has imessage turned off?

If continuity is enabled then yes, if I’m not mistaken. Natively, no. Then again, it has been a while since I’ve use my iPad for texting purposes. Anyway, hopefully someone who frequent text via an iPad will reply soon.

The answer to your first question is SMS.
Second is yes, but there’s a ‘but’:
Settings —> Messages —> Text Message Forwarding has to be enabled on all iDevices you want to text with (iMessage and SMS).
