Why is my ipad air resetting to LOUD?

My ipad randomly adjusts its volume setting to LOUD from medium or even from mute. It changes even during silent apps. And it resets default volume level so any new app opend LOUD. ideas?

Check the volume rocker switches. They could be sticking. It is not normal for the iPad to randomly adjust volume up or down.
