Why doesn't the song I chose play as my alarm goes off?

I have an iPhone 5. It started happenening after the latest update. It makes a low binging sound as the alarm.

Click on the clock, click on alarm, click on +, click on sound, click on pick a song, and then choose the song from your music.

You may be hearing the new "bedtime" alarm feature. Be sure the regular alarm is set as desired.
