Am I missing something?
Today I submitted to Apple Feedback:
Subject: Avoid duplicate pix in Messages and Photos. Save storage.
Comments: Need a simple indicator in Messages sessions to tell whether a received Photo or Movie has already been saved to my Photos library.
This would reduce the storage consumed on my MacOS and iOS devices, and in iCloud.
If I save it to Photos library, the photo in Messagses should switch to point to the file in Photos and NOT be saved as a duplicate in ~/Library/Application Support . This could further save on bandwidth used to display Messages history. So in effect, it isn't a "Save to Photos" feature, it's a "Move to Photos" feature.
