Why can't I view pics on iMessage?

I can't view pics on imessage.

I am unable to download any pics that are sent to me.

Are you certain the pics are sent via "iMessage" and not via MMS? If sent via MMS, you will need to go to the Messages settings and enable the toggle next to "MMS Messaging".

It seems like since the last ios update, I have to be hooked up to wifi to download a pic. Atleast the past week I have. It gave me the option "tap to download" but that did not work.

I have that problem but if I turn on my cellular data then it works
