Are you sure someone has tried to call you?
You might try this:
1. Delete Messenger
2. Sign out of Facebook
3. Sign back in to Facebook
4. Reinstall Messenger
5. Be sure Facebook is set up in Settings
Facebook support is a joke and a waste of time.
