Why can't I hear people that I call (iPhone 6)?

I can barely hear the person im talking to on my new iphone6

When I call someone, I can barely hear the phone ringing or the person talking. The volume is really low. I just got my phone today and I'm furious that I cant hear!!!!!!!! Any suggestions?

I'm not aware of any volume issues on the 6 or 6+. Try rebooting your device to see if that helps. If not, you may want to take it to Apple. There's a possibility you received a defective device.

I hate to suggest this, but just wanted to double-check that you removed the plastic film from the phone?

Took the words out my mouth.

I'll never forget when a woman did that with the iPhone 4 when it was released. She came into the store saying she couldn't hear, and still had the plastic on.

I did that with my iPhone 6.

It's also possible that you need to turn up the volume on both the ringer and also during a call. With a fresh device or fresh restore, it defaults to only half way of total output.
