What is the passcode to reset network settings?

I am unable to get connected to wifi network from my iphone 4. I am facing this problem only now with a new wifi network. I can see the network but cannot get connected. Hence I would like to reset the network settings as suggested in Apple support page. When I use the passcode which I use to unlock the phone, it fails. How do I know the right passcode?

You need to ask the owner of the wifi network for his or her wifi password ,

When you go to Settings → General → Reset and then select "Reset Network Settings" on your iPhone, you are promoted to enter the same passcode you use to unlock the locks screen. Reboot and try again.
