I think I'm going to try the Otterbox Defender..in black. I expect to be out and about in unfriendly and rugged terrain a lot more during the Spring and Summer. Max (no pun intended ) protection will be needed.

Did you wind up getting the Smart Battery Case? If so, how do you like it? I have one myself. I love it, and I got used to the weight and size pretty quickly. The only thing that bothers me is that I used it for two weeks without removing, and my battery health went from 100% to 97%; and the buttons aren't as responsive as previous generation Smart Battery Cases. Regardless, I still like it - the feel of the silicone, the soft lining, the bottom being covered.

No I haven’t. I am not working right now and until I am gainfully employed that’s not on my radar. But I have heard good things about it

Nice case for protection but not a nice case for everyday use. As expected it adds weight to a already heavy Xs Max.
