Weird symbols next to icons???

Hey everybody,

My phone is working perfectly, but every time I touch an icon, when I close out of the program, it has these (see pic next to phone, ipod and safari icons) symbols next to the icon I just touched?!

Help! I'm worried something is way wrong!

Nevermind... I think I got it figured out...from what I've found, its due to "backgrounder" and it shows you what apps are running in the background.
