You say that the screen is interrupted since the iphobe X but i would argue that loke on the mac the notch just bribgs more screen and more space for content. The iphone 8 had uninterrupted screen but big bezels and part of the screen was taken by the time, battery etc which now lives around the notch!
And yes the dynamic island is a notch but a more useful one!
