UNC path and connecting

I'm new to the MacBook world, and thus I'm sure this is one, of a million questions.
From a Windows computer, can I browse to a UNC path, on a MacBook?

Example: if I wanted to copy data from my Windows computer, to my MacBook, via a WIFI network?
Yes, I could simply use a USB thumb drive of sorts. But...

Set up the Windows computer to share files/folders or drives... and on the MacBook - in Finder - hit "Go" on the menu... then connect to server the first time... browse...

Brilliant, I was able to mount my Windows computer drive\share, on my MacBook...
