the phone doesnt ring and do not disturb is NOT on

AFTER IOS upgrade, the phone is not ringing when a call comes in nor any other notification is making a sound. I have checked that DO NOT DISTURB is NOT on. Only the wake up alarm makes noise.

I wonder if you need to update your carrier settings? My husband had to do this after updating to iOS 10...

Check that the mute button in the top left corner isn't on.
