>>>”If Apple wants to keep the iPad Air around, the next iteration has got to offer a lot more.

It's hard to imagine what that would be, considering it's already so close to the iPad Pro, but the $449 price point of the 10th-gen has taken the wind out of my love for the iPad Air.”<<<

Not even a mention for the iPad mini in the article. We of the Mini that are shunned :).

What they can do with the Air 6, maybe a 90hz display? Speaker upgrade? MagSafe? Higher base storage? Anytime you can say this has a better display and better speakers, that’ll get some buyers. But overall the base IPad is the best option for most (except for us Mini outcasts).

Only if you do not care about laminated displays.

And SOC. There is a lot of “it doesn’t matter, it’s plenty fast enough for everything I do”. It’s true the A14 will provide plenty of power but that’s a bit of tunnel vision as well as short sighted. There are features that will be processor intensive and the M1 will outshine the A14 fairly handily. As well, a few years down the line many apps and features, usually, build upward to newer devices’ increased processing power. The Air’s M1 provides this value.

But the Air 6 adding a DPI increase and 90hz refresh rate would provide plenty of differentiation incentive(to go with the lamination). Adding in quad speakers is probably a bridge too far.
