You can get rid of it !! This is how I did it before I was jailbroken and it's easy and it works by giving you a usable folder that hides newsstand in it

You are very welcome Another little tip if you rearrange your icons within that folder so that newsstand is last then the blank space will not be noticeable when the folder is closed. You also don't need to keep the name Magic but I'm sure you know that
