should I replace my old macbook pro logic board

iMore Question

I have a 10 year old macbook pro and the logic board just died I took it to an wefixit store and they looked it over and said it would cost $480 to have it fixed but it would be like a brand new computer. Should I fix it if everything else on it was fine my needs have not changed. My computer looks brand new not even a scratch on it and it was packed when I purchased it cost me $2800.

I have a hard time saying that I would do it. I understand that you paid a lot of money for it, but it is old technology. If you can afford new, I would seriously consider it. If not then change the board. I have an old iMac (2007 with upgrades) & MBP (2010 with upgrades) myself and if something failed on them now I would not fix them. I would definitely replace them.
