Setting up a game center ID

I have played for 3 years on my IPAD without a game center account and now i want to sign in to game center. If i do this, will I lose my data? Or will it automatically upload the date onto the new game center account?

Welcome to iMore! You shouldn't lose any save game data. If there's existing data in your Game Center account your game should prompt you to choose which to keep.
