Feeling kind of sorry for those that paid full price at launch.
iPhones seem to be fine retaining value.
Resale value means absolutely nothing on a $12OO value phone. In tech, everything is pretty much disposable products. It's not like we're talking houses are cars. I won't mention the resale value I lost on my Audi S6. That was pre pandemic of course.
Hmmmm….That’s an interesting take and one I will indeed remember.
Not really, It's only a $1200 piece of tech. I feel sorry for the people that thing that losing money on a $1200 piece of tech is an issue. They're basically throw away items. The only reason why I trade mine in is so It gets disposed of properly and helps with the landfills.
That would make you fortunate. For many people that is a great deal of money. I’d imagine it is a more important piece of information for them to have. If you only return it for proper disposal then consider donating it to someone who needs it but can’t afford it.
The key things with phones,is to buy them outright from the manufacturer and avoid going through carriers. Financing a phone through a carrier at the prices they're charging should be illegal just like those payday loan places. It's highway robbery.
I buy mine outright. Carriers finance at 0%. So does apple.
This simply is not true. It will be true for some, it will not be true for everyone.
Further regarding financing, as one example, a seller that offers zero or close to zero percent financing (assuming same asking price point) is going to be ideal. Zero percent offers were available 2020-2021. They are likely to be less available (but still available) in the next couple of years.

If you have to finance a phone, perhaps you don't need that phone. That was the point I was trying to make.
