Restored El Capitan via Time Machine...now I am missing 45 gb...how can I find out what's missing

It is a really really long story, but i had to restore my iMac via Time Machine and I had around 200 gb of storage left originally....now after I restored it via Time Machine...i have 245 gb left. ...how can I figure out what of the 45 gb is missing? i mostly care about my photos

It's probably just temporary files or other clutter. I've never lost any data doing a Time Machine restore.
