Predictive/corrective keyboard

Is there a way to disable the pointless and annoying predictive and (so-called) corrective function on the keyboard?

i believe there are provisions to disable CERTAIN corrections; you need to hit the X next to the incorrect correction a number of times, im not sure on the exact number, perhaps 3 (just a guess)?

I cannot answer your question. But I must disagree with your point that the predictive text is annoying. Without it I would never be able to finish a sentence in less than five minutes!!! For me, this is one of the best features of the IPhone!!! I do admit that it takes some getting used to, kind of hard to give up control. But when you do let go and type away it dies the job it was intended to do beautifully

too many times it "corrects" what I am typing with words that I do not want to type. I would say it is a positive 2/3 of time and an annoyance 1/3 of the time.
