Sooooo some developers are allegedly uploading their apps to Apple’s App Store Connect and advertising its as being free when in fact, it’s useless until customers pay for the service associated with the app.

Apple is allegedly stating that the associated service needs to be listed as an in-app purchases which would allow customers to know upfront if there’s a hidden charge to use the app. Of course, Apple wants its cut of the profits.

What’s the difference? I mean both are being somewhat duplicitous, in my opinion....

Surely we can buy apps/services through google in safari, without Apple’s cut ?
F’rinstance if I was feeling crazy enough to buy a subscription to YouTube,I really, really would not want to pay Apple £3 a month on top just to avoid advertisements !
So going that route I can see paying £20+ a month on top of my service and broadband payments. I can see going back to a dumb phone in the future if the phone makers and broadband providers really tear the arse out of it !
