Google’s Data Collection Practices: The Scary Truth

https://blog.searchscene.com/google-s-data-collection-practices-the-scary-truth/

* A dormant Android phone still communicates data 14 times an hour to Google servers, 35% of which is your location data.
* Through their advertising technologies, Google has the ability to associate purportedly “user anonymous” data collected through passive means with the personal information of the user.
* A major part of Google’s data collection occurs while a user is not directly engaged with any of its products.

WHAT IS DEFLECTION?

To deflect something is to cause that thing to change direction by interposing something. This turns it off of its straight course in another direction, even back in the original direction it came from.

As you may know, DuckDuckGo pulls its search results from other services, primarily Bing. You may also know that clicking a Microsoft-provided ad in DuckDuckGo will reveal your IP address to the Microsoft Advertising service—this is explicitly stated on DuckDuckGo’s website and in the company’s search engine.

But this partnership goes a bit deeper than we thought. Security researcher @thezedwards found that the mobile DuckDuckGo browser does not block Microsoft trackers on third-party websites, such as the Facebook-owned Workplace.com.

I see that Google is in your head rent free. Bringing up Google in a discussion about DDG. Why not bring up Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny while you're at it.

Google lives in your head rent free. Feel free stay focused on Google because we all know that outside of bashing Google, Samsung or Android, you have nothing to say.

Google trackers being blocked by ddg seem to deeply upset you.

Nope I could care less about Google. You're just always bringing up Google because Google lives rent free in your head. Why would I be upset that it blocks Google? That's what I want to know.
