MS Outlook

Everywhere I read, I see that the iPhone can open and view MS Docs (Excel and Word).
I email myself an Excel spreadsheet using MS Outlook and all I get is an email with a winmail.dat icon with a question mark in it.
If I go thru gMail and send the attachment, it comes thru no problem.

Is there a way to send the MS files thru Outlook and be able to view them?

What version of Outlook are you using? If you're getting a "winmail.dat", it's Outlook that is "munging" up the email and making the client unable to recognize the attachment.
