MacBook syncing to iOS

I have been using my wife's mid 2010 MacBook Pro. I also use a Nexus 6 smartphone. I am really thinking about going all in on the Apple ecosystem. I do some writing. So just how smooth is syncing across Apple? I really like the ease of Mac OS. Not a fan of Microsoft. There seems to be a constant need to stay on top of the MS operating system.
I would probably get either the 12" MacBook or a 13" Pro. Also more than likely a iPad Pro with keyboard and Pencil and the subsequent iPhone 8.

Syncing between your Apple products should be simple and smooth. I have and iPad Pro, an iPhone and an old 2009 MacBook and syncing between them is effortless.
