Is the Series 3 faster than the Series 2?

Want to know if I should upgrade would be helpful to know if it's faster. And the battery life?

The battery life of the Series 3 is supposedly the same as the Series 2 which is roughly 18 hours. Thanks to the S3 and W2 chip, the Series 3 is 1.7x faster than Series 1 & Series 2.
