I recently got a new MBP and I have seen some apps that allow the iPhone and mac to connect via Bluetooth and the mac unlocks. Is there a app out there that does that but displays a pin when your iPhone and Mac connect via Bluetooth?

It would be a 2 factor authentication set up. Not only would you need you phone, but you would need a predefined pin that you could enter into the mac.

There is an application called Bluetooth Unlock in the MAC App Store. It has two factor disabled by default but can be configured. I personally have not tried this but it seems the two reviews aren't great. It's only $1.99 though so if you feel like trying it let us know how it works.

Yeah I think the reviews indicate that there are range issues, so when you walk away it stays paired (and therefore the laptop is accessible) for too long.
