Iphone 5 Sprint mobile

Hello Sir,

I have an Iphone 5 sprint mobile. I bought it in Craiglist. The guy who sold me he said its unlocked but if i put any AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon sims it says invalid sim.

I want to use it in india can you please let me know what's the procedure to unlock?
Is sprint mobiles are GSM unlocked ?
I heard sprint mobiles are CDMA locked and GSM unlocked is it true ? my iphone model A2149 supports both CDMA & GSM networks.

Please answer to my questions.

Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Sprint version will only support international sims. I understand the Verizon model will work with US carrier sims, but you do not get LTE functionality.

You stated the seller told you it's unlocked so if that's true you should be all set if not you would have to contact Sprint so they can unlock it

I would check with Sprint before you leave for India just to be on the safe side
