iPad Pro and Widgets on Home Screen

Earlier today, I reset my iPad Pro to factory, and set it up as new.
Reasoning for doing this, is irrelevant.

I learned today, that I can have widgets on the first Home Screen of the iPad. On three occasions in the last 30 minutes, I have added the specific widgets I want, and removed the default ones I did not want.

After working in various apps, and then going back to the Home Screen, all the widgets I setup are gone. And, the default widgets are back.

What am I missing here?

Thanks all.

You know, I reset the icons for the screens, via settings.
I wonder if that resets the widgets on the Home Screen, too...

Are they stacked? I have a stack of several, and I think it reverts to the stock weather when the temperature changes. Not sure, but sure seems like it.

Tried both. Today, it seems stable. But, again, I think this issue was mainly because I reset the icons, via settings.

Seems okay, thus far...

Widgets and apps are both on the Home Screen so if you reset one, it would apply to the other.
