iPad keyboard on the plus

Why is the swipe down for alternative keys not on the plus? Why does Apple not think the plus screen is big enough for extra features? I use split screen on the s8 so the plus screen is plenty big enough for split screen also. Using the keyboard on the iPad makes me not even want to type on my phone with how easy it is to swipe down for numbers.

Hopefully in the future Apple will implement this feature onto the iPhone’s keyboard too.

Only Apple knows the answer. Maybe because they did usability testing and found that the screen is, in fact, not big enough for alternative keys to work reliably for most people? (But, that's just a guess.)

Maybe third party keyboards will add this as a feature?
