So looks like they are going much higher with the pricing for the rumored ipad 5 and 128gb storage Rumored 128GB fourth-generation iPad priced at $799 and $929, according to 9to5Mac | The Verge

That’s not "much higher". In fact, it’s exactly what the current pricing is...

The 16GB version wifi only is $499; 32GB version wifi only is $599; the 64GB version wifi only is $699. LTE/Cellular version is $130 more for each. As the storage size goes up, so does the price... by exactly $100... so a 128GB model should cost $799 for wifi only, and $130 more for LTE ($929).

I just meant in regards that they are getting close to MacBook pricing and that may lead some to choose that over an ipad.

And I think that people will continue to choose the iPad over the MacBook. I believe that's where we are heading. I'm glad to see the higher capacity iPads.

The iPad 5 will be priced in accordance with Apple's current pricing tiers. They won't go up, but they may go down if production afforded them that luxury.

It is too early to talk about the price for iPad 5, but I hope it can come out with a cheaper price.

It's definitely not too early. We could see a reveal event as early as the end of March. But It'll most likely be April, if Apple sticks to their cycle.

Why start rumors on pricing, it has always been the same price since day one with the exception of the iPad mini seeing it is a different screen size.

Why change the price? They have no problem selling at the current prices.
