iOS Calendar Location

I just got a iPhone and I noticed when I type in a location in the location field in the calendar app it tries to find the location I am searching for, but it never even close. It is usually several states away from me. I search for a restraurant but it won't find it, but if I search for it in apple maps it will come up. I then search for the location in the location field in the calendar app then it recognizes the location. Is there a way to have the calendar actually find the place the first time without going through apple maps and then back to the calendar. It is a giant annoyance. My old android phone did find the location without all this jumping back and fourth.

See if your location services is turned on for your calendar, that may fix the issue.
