iMessage and iCloud on two different devices

So my girlfriend uses the same iCloud as her dad and we talk very weird. anyway, Is her father able to read the messages even though she sends them through her phone number and not the email address?

All he has to do is login to iMessage from his device and have the messages sync to read.
